Jackie dreams of becoming a politics reporter while continuing to cover stories bilingually that affect the Latino community. She hopes to expose injustice through her reporting to help create a more equitable society. She wishes to touch the hearts of many through her words and help people see parts of themselves in the stories she writes.

After gaining many years of experience in the field, she want to become a journalism professor. She will teach her students the importance of using their voice for good and of holding powerful officials accountable to sustain democracy. But most of all, she will remind them frequently that they are capable of igniting change, no matter how young they are.

Jackie would also like to write a book someday and connect with with what drew her to storytelling in the first place.
